The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society works to make the best match possible between people and pets. We are always working to place animals in responsible, loving homes. Each adopted animal is spayed/neutered and vaccinated against rabies and distemper. Cats are tested for feline leukemia and dogs are tested for heartworm. Treatment for fleas and intestinal parasites is administered if needed. Microchipping is available at the time of adoption for an additional $10. Adopters will receive a $5 coupon for Science Diet pet food and 30 days of free pet insurance for microchiped animals
A valid and current photo ID is required to adopt any animal.
If you are interested in adopting a dog and would like to complete the profile in advance, you may find it here.
If you are adopting a cat, s/he must leave the shelter or adoption clinic in a carrier. You may bring your own or purchase one for a nominal charge.
Plan to bring your entire family along so everyone can meet your new pet.
If you have a dog at home and are planning to adopt a dog, please bring your dog to meet the new dog.
If you rent your home, please check with your landlord before coming down to make sure you are familiar with their pet policies
Most importantly, plan to spend some time with us getting to know your new pet. We want to make sure that whoever you choose will be the right match for you.
