Join us for a day filled with family fun on Sunday, October 22 from 12-3 pm.

 

where to park
Look for the signs. There will be several places to park:

  • Directly cross the street from the Humane Society on Broadway (193 Broadway)
  • Just up the street at Riverview Center (150 Broadway)
  • In the lot behind Finishing Trades Institute (191 Broadway)

  • Meet Sergeant Clough & K-9 Officer Eddie from the Colonie Police Department
     
  • Goat yoga from 12:30-1:30 pm for the first 25 yogis to come with mats. Donations appreciated.
     
  • MHHS Pet Cemetery and Law Enforcement K-9 Memorial
    - Our pet cemetery began in 1948. Last year we began a project to restore more than 2,400 stones.
    - The K-9 Memorial honoring law enforcement service dogs has been on our grounds since 1999.
     
  • History Walk in the Pet Cemetery
    Our pet cemetery is 75 years old and undergoing a restoration project. Learn about its history. Also, discover many interesting and little-known facts about MHHS dating back to 1887. MHHS began as a Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Children and later became a leader in both child and animal welfare. The Society has deep roots in the start of the animal welfare movement in the US. Learn about some of the very unusual animals housed over the years and more fun facts.
     
  • Come in Costume!
    Many of our favorite Halloween candies are vegan! Stop by the Capital Region Vegan Network booth and get treated.
     
  • Humane Heroes Unleashed
    Members of our youth volunteer program will lead activities and share what they’ve learned as hands-on advocates for the animals.

"Stuff the Truck" Pet Food Drive

Furry Friends Pet Food Pantry provided over 92,000 pet meals last year and the need continues to be great. Help keep pets with the families who love them by donating an unopened bag of cat or dog food and get a free gift for your pet!

  • Halloween will be just around the corner, so wear your favorite costume to add to the fun.
Friendly dogs welcome! Pups must be current on vaccinations. No retractable leashes, please.
 

NOTE: Adoptions will not be taking place during Fall Fest.
