The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is committed to long-term solutions to the problem of pet overpopulation -- which is why every dog, cat and rabbit adopted from the Society since 2006 has been spayed or neutered before going home. That's thousands of animals being spayed or neutered every year.
We also recognize many people want to avoid unwanted litters of puppies and kittens but can't afford to have the surgery done. The Society offers subsidized spay/neuter surgery for people with limited income for a lower fee. We are currently offering this service only for cats and Pit Bull type dogs. We do not currently have the ability to provide services for other breeds of dog.
Surgery clinics are held on most Sundays. Appointments must be made in advance.
Rabies and FVRCP (distemper) vaccinations are included in the price of surgery. Services available for an additional fee include feline leukemia testing, heartworm testing and microchipping.
There are two pricing levels depending on the pet owner's income. You may qualify to spay or neuter your cat for as little as $85 for female and $75 for male.
An application and proof of income must be submitted before an appointment will be scheduled. You can download an application for services here. Once the application has been submitted and approved we will contact you to schedule an appointment
