Community Relations Manager

The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (MHHS) is seeking a full-time Community Relations Manager (CRM) to join the team. The CRM's main responsibility is to ensure that community members are treated with respect and connected to the appropriate shelter resources to meet their needs. The CRM oversees recruitment, training, and performance of Community Relations team members. The person in this role provides guidance, support, resources, and tools to the staff who directly interface with the shelter's internal and external community. Required schedule Monday through Wednesday, and Friday, 10:30 am-6:30 pm, and Thursday 8:00 am-4:30 pm. Starting rate of pay: $20.70/hour.

Development Specialist

The Development Specialist is a versatile contributor, integral to the organization's mission, with responsibilities in social media, special events, and key development initiatives. This role plays a crucial part in planning and ensuring the success of the organization's fundraising events, implements social media strategies, assists with donor correspondence, and serves as a representative of the organization in the community. Required schedule Monday through Friday, 9 am-5 pm. Starting rate of pay: $18.20/hour.

Empties for Animals Assistant

The Empties for Animals Assistant is responsible for training and overseeing individual and corporate volunteers in our Empties for Animals bottles and cans redemption center. The person in this role will act as host to large groups, ensuring a positive experience and ongoing relationship with the organization is formed, and as mentor to individuals who volunteer their time to sort bottles and cans. The person in this role must have excellent communication skills, and is expected to create a welcoming and professional atmosphere that is comfortable for diverse audiences. Maximum of 20 hours per week. Starting rate of pay: $15.85/hour.

Vice President for Development

The Vice President for Development works closely with the CEO, VP for Shelter Operations, VP for Community Operations, and VP for Finance, and provides strategic leadership for the Marketing & Development Team. The position requires a creative individual who will work collaboratively with her/his/their team to build on current fundraising initiatives, and develop new approaches to increase support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and grants. The incumbent is a relationship builder and represents the organization onsite, at public events, and in the media. She/He/They are a brand ambassador and a standard bearer for the organization's adaptive and inclusive culture. Salary ranges from $90,000-95,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Animal Care Associate (full- and part-time)

Animal Care Associates are key members of the operations team, and part of a talented and dynamic team of Animal Care experts. Animal Care Associates clean and feed pets, provide daily enrichment, ensure the pet's living environment is appropriately outfitted, and monitor behavioral and medical health, reporting any issues to appropriate staff. Animal Care Associates serve as our primary adoption counselors, using a conversational approach to match people and pets. Starting wage: $15.85 per hour.

As a key member of our veterinary team, the LVT assists in surgery and recovery, carries out laboratory duties, and provides medical care for shelter and public pets attending our clinics. The ideal candidate is a licensed veterinary technician in NYS, has strong communication and computer skills and a sense of humor, and thrives in a collaborative environment where priorities often shift quickly.
