A Great New Space for More Kitten Shower Fun
Get ready for the most adorable event of the season! The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society’s Annual Kitten Shower is a feel-good celebration of all things feline—and it’s bigger and better than ever. This popular event has outgrown our space, so we’re moving just up the street to the Riverview Center (just a pounce away from the shelter) to make room for more kitten lovers, more activities, and more fun!
Each year, we care for over 400 kittens, ranging from orphaned newborns to entire litters with or without their mothers. This event helps ensure we have the supplies and support needed to give them the healthiest possible start in life.
The fun-filled, afternoon features:
- Raffles and online auction
- Stuffed animal adoptions
- Crafts and activities
- Bake sale and food trucks
- Vendors and crafters
- And of course ... kittens!
The Riverview Center is located at 151 Broadway, just a quarter mile from MHHS.

The Power of Foster Care
In 2025, our foster volunteers opened their homes to more than 700 animals. They nurtured fragile kittens until adoption-ready, provided lifesaving care for cats, dogs, and other animals with special medical needs, and gave long-stay residents a much-needed break from the shelter environment. Through their compassion and commitment, foster families don’t just save lives — they transform them, making every step of the journey to a forever home gentler, healthier, and filled with hope.

Note: Kittens attending the shelter will be too young to go home. But we will have many available in the coming weeks.
